Prophets jumping the gun

Wow! Two of The Nation’s most prolific letter-writers now aspire to become prophets. JC Wilcox prophesies that Donald Trump will become the next US president (“President Trump will show magnanimity towards his unfriendly European brethren”) and Eric Bahrt prophesies that he won’t (“Donald Trump is not going to be the next president of the United States!”).

We’ll have to wait awhile to see how the prophetic duel between these epistolary giants turns out. In the meantime it would be nice to see evidence of that Trumpian magnanimity that JC so extols. “Magnanimous” is not the first adjective that springs to mind when one thinks about Donald Trump.
