A rich tapestry

Barry Kenyon’s description of the microcosm of your Letters column is most observant. It is a forum from various expatriate and Thai readers, writing scholarly, intelligently, light-heartedly, arrogantly, trivially, pedantically and insultingly. I would not miss it in the world and have to admit I learn from others, also smile at a few of laughable letters and feel pity at some of the sub-par letters. In sum, all writers should be welcome for us to have those mixed ingredients – Thais or non-Thais alike. On record, I will never tell any foreigner to go home or to mind their own
business because many are so refreshing to our Thai views
that are sometimes dreary and pathetic.
