Gaming is made easy with LG's Ultra HD 4K monitor

LG has launched a new Ultra HD 4K |monitor that is ideal for both work and play.
The 27-inch diagonal monitor features 3840 x 2160 resolution and uses IPS (in-plane switching) technology to provide optimised, accurate image quality from every viewing angle.
The LG 27UD68P offers accurate image quality for graphic artists and clear vision for a realistic gaming experience.
The monitor’s sRGB technology produces rich colours at an accuracy rate of up to 99%, and the display is also good for viewing and reading digital content with Reader Mode and Flicker Safe functions.
It is very bright with 300 nits of brightness and has a high contrast ratio of 1000: 1.
The monitor has two HDMI (Version 2.0) ports and a DisplayPort (Version 1.2) and a headphone-out jack. All ports are located behind the screen.
The display is easy to set up. It comes with a curved stand that can easily be attached to the monitor. The height of the monitor can easily be adjusted by sliding the monitor up or down on the flexible stand. As well, the monitor has a pivot function to turn it from horizontal to vertical view.
The monitor has a joystick at the bottom of the screen to bring up a menu to change various settings. It also has on-screen controls that allows users to use a mouse instead of the joystick to change various settings.
Among other features, the on-screen control lets users select one of several split screen functions, which includes three screens divided vertically and four screens divided into four equal screens. The unit also has Picture in Picture mode (PIP) that will show a |smaller window in the foreground of the main screen, allowing users to tackle multiple tasks simultaneously.
The LG 27UD68P is great for game enthusiasts. One of the features is Free Sync that allows gamers to play without screen stuttering. Another one is called Black Stabilizer that lets gamers see the enemies clearly even in dark shades. There is also Dynamic Action Sync which increases the pace to attack enemies with less lag time.
As well, there are special display modes for game players called FPS Game 1 optimised for FPS (first person shooting) games, FPS Game 2 with higher Black Stabiliser value for playing very dark FPS games. Another mode is RTS Game for playing real-time strategy games.
Other display modes enhance photo viewing and movie watching.
During the test, I found the display was great for viewing photos and videos and for working on photo editing as well as for viewing graphics.
The LG 27UD68P is now available at Bt18,900 in leading IT stores.
