Prayut just needs a high enough branch

The Chinese proverb, “Qi ma nan xia” (Riding on a tiger, it’s difficult to get off), seems to portray Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha’s current situation very clearly.

However, “difficult” in this case doesn’t always mean impossible. A person can escape by simply jumping for a tree branch high enough for the tiger not to catch and eventually kill him. That said, I think Prayut should state clearly how long he thinks it is necessary for him to stay on as prime minister. And after that, full democracy will be allowed.
Sending a straightforward message will help members of the National Legislative Assembly and the Constitution Drafting Committee work freely. They will henceforth focus on providing a better future and wellbeing for the people of the country as a whole – not expressly to help the premier hold on to power.
Sometimes it is the people close to the prime minister themselves that are making it difficult for him to get off the proverbial tiger’s back: Their intention to “help” him might very well “harm” him.
Hence, Prayut should send a clear message to these people so that they will not waver in performing their duties for the good of the country.
