Golfers observe minute’s silence

A HUSH descended on the course at the Venetian Macao Open yesterday, as players and crowd observed a minute’s silence ahead of second-round action to honour the memory His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who passed away on Thursday.

Star golfers including Ian Poulter of England, Curtis Luck of Australia, Branden Grace of South Africa and Thai players Sutijet Kooratanapisan, Thitipan Chuayprakrong, Natipong Srithong and Sattaya Supuppramai paid tribute to His Majesty at the start of their rounds of the Asian Tour event at the Macao Golf and Country Club.
Several players also wore black ribbons in their caps as a mark of respect. Among them were India’s Anirban Lahiri, 2015 Asian Tour Order of Merit winner, Australian Scott Hend, the current Order of Merit leader and winner of two titles in Thailand this year, and Thai stars Danthai Boonma and Pavit Tangkamolprasert
