‘The Donald’ versus the phantom rule of law

With the US Department of Justice and the president politicising the law, and the FBI flopping around, the American people have to decide whether they want their country to return to its democratic status and the rule of law or become a failed state with corrupt governance.

As one arrives in New York Harbour, the Statue of Liberty rises out of the sea. It is symbolic of all that America stands for: the freedom of the individual. The right to pursue the American dream in the land of the law is God given.
The degree to which US citizens now value this is about to become clear. If they vote for Trump, the harbour statue will remain iconic. All that America stands for can be celebrated. The alternative is a place in the new world order, its identity lost forever under the rule of faceless oligarchs, where money alone is God.
It’s either Trump or a coup d’etat to ensure the continuance of 240 years of glorious history in their land of the law.
