Majority does not ‘approve’ junta, but is instead cowed

Re: “Advocate democracy? Then you must accept POTUS Trump”, Letters, yesterday.

Clara, you say the majority of Thais approve of the junta government. But, you see, they acquiesce because they are afraid of “attitude adjustment”, a euphemism for intimidation and confinement. They are afraid of seeing soldiers in battle fatigues sitting in a Humvee parked in front of their home.
Meanwhile I am looking forward to seeing how Donald Trump is going to wiggle out of his election promises, especially the pledge of a US-Mexican wall.
