Double standards used in judging Castro, Cuba

Re: “To judge Cuba fairly, compare it to neighbours”, Letters, December 6.

A point I made in the letter referred to became a victim of the editor’s work. My point was that Cuba is judged unfairly since well-fed Westerners criticise Fidel Castro and his country for lacking Western top-rank “freedoms” but aren’t able to criticise the lack of those freedoms for the poor man elsewhere and back home.
