A few weeks ago I insulted some CNN journalists who were from the UK and Australia and was criticised for insulting the English and Australian people. Now I complain about the “wealthy and pseudo-intellectuals of the world” in general and Khun Pornpimol in particular, and The Nation titles my letter “Elitist Thais attack populist leader” and Vint Chavala claims I have insulted the Thai people and Thailand.
I don’t mean to sound paranoid, but it seems that I must not be wording my letters clearly because The Nation keeps editing them and people such as Vint Chavala continue to interpret them any way they like.
The only point that I was trying to make is that the wealthy and pseudo-intellectuals of the world are attacking Donald Trump and he hasn’t even taken office yet. It is common-place for the wealthy to attack a populist leader because they feel that such leaders are using their tax money to finance populist programmes, but Trump hasn’t even taken office yet or spent anyone’s money, so why the uproar?
As for Vint Chavala, I would recommend that you start reading the content of letters as well as the titles before you pop off. Nowhere in my letter did I mention Thailand or Thais.
