I am thrilled that Ringling Bros’ barbaric animal circuses are coming to an end. I am proud to be a member of the organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which has over the years exposed how circus elephants were abused, tortured, kept in chains and transported around in boxcars.
Readers seeking the grisly details can google “12 Things Ringling doesn’t want you to know”.
It took us 36 years to achieve this victory. And that’s why I never give up – no matter how many people I annoy.
