LOVE is in the air this month so there’s no better time for the launch of the capsule collection “Love Story” from local design brand Landmee by Netdaw “Mee” Vattanasimakorn.
A handmade clothing brand with a 1970s vibe, Netdaw partnered with up-and-coming stylist Katieismonster to bring this collection to life.
Spotted in the front row of the recent fashion show at The Apothecary Venue, Phaholyothin 42 were such celebrities such as Cherman Boonyasak, Khemanit Jamikorn, Pimmada Boriraksupakorn, Ploi Horwang, Intira Thanavisuth, Pimlert Baiyoke, Chanadda Chirathivat, Anandadvip Jayankura Na Ayudhaya and Karuna Vatchanaphukka.
In fact, Landmee was first introduced to the public in Siam Square more than 15 years ago but at that time focused on hand-made jewellery and hand-painted shirts. Netdaw later started designing unique, fashion-forward clothes, which were well received by Bangkok’s young and stylish.
Landmee’s clothes are feminine but edgy, and every collection boasts such vintage additions as hand embroidery, lace, and denim. Every item is meticulously made by skilled craftsmen, and the designs are based on art.
The new collection, as its name implies, tells a beautiful tale of love. The main colours are white, red, gold and black, each representing love at a different stage. White is for when love begins, pure, fresh and innocent. Red symbolises liveliness and happiness. Gold represents the glory of love and its power when it reaches its peak. Black is the sorrow experienced when love comes to an end, whether through separation or death, Landmee depicts the story of love at every stage, through happiness and sorrow, underlining the maturity of the brand.
The highlight of the “Love Story” collection is a glittering fabric. While previous collections focused on short dresses and colourful jumpsuits, “Love Story” is centred on long dresses that can be worn as evening gowns.
