Hotels and tearooms in Bangkok's Ratchaprasong area are once again celebrating the arrival of summer for a medley of fascinating tea cultures on the annual “High Tea Jubilee @ Ratchaprasong” running from now until the end of April.
This second edition on the theme “Summer Tea Party” will ease the blistering afternoon with a variety of afternoon tea sets that feature exquisite selections of delightful desserts. The participating venues are Anantara Siam Bangkok, Centara Grand @ CentralWorld, Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, InterContinental Bangkok, Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong, The St Regis Bangkok, 1823 Tea Lounge by Ronnefeldt, and Twinings Tea Boutique.
“They are all presenting afternoon tea sets designed to help customers cool down. Served as a meal and include the establishments’ signature sweet and meat dishes, these exclusive tea sets are being created by pastry chefs and tea masters of each tea room drawing on the elegant tea traditions of the upper classes in various countries, including Thailand, England, Morocco and China. The result is a range of elaborately presented afternoon tea sets, in which everyone can take pleasure in the flavours and aromas of fine teas and international delicacies from across the world," says Nattaporn Chevamongkol Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association (RSTA).
Anatara Siam Bangkok has three exclusive tea blends created with unique Thai flavours and aromas by Mariage Freres while Grand Hyatt Erawan offers a selection of Thai herbal teas to enjoy with Thai desserts. A Moroccan-style afternoon tea set is available at InterContinental Bangkok and afternoon tea comes with refreshing summer-inspired iced tea in two special blends from Twinings Tea Boutique.
