Acclaimed jazz singer Veronica Nunn at the Living Room

Bask in the sound of smooth jazz in the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit’s Living Room, where American singer Veronica Nunn is holding court until April 1.

Making her debut at the bar, the Arkansas native grew up listening to jazz, soul and gospel, moving to New York in 1978 to immerse herself in the jazz scene there. She’s sung at clubs all over Harlem, Greenwich Village and along 54th Street, her beautiful voice being likened to those of early Carmen McRae and Sarah Vaughan.
Jazz Times magazine says Nunn “can make the stale sound fresh, the familiar sound arresting”, while renowned critic Stuart Troup hailed her “unmistakable sound, a rich timbre at once intimate and reserved”.
“Perfect timing and remarkable vocal control make her ballads and fast tempos equally intriguing. And can she swing!” Troup enthused.
At the Living Room Nunn is performing with the sensational Randy Cannon Group. Renowned for his power-packed performances, Cannon’s mesmerising piano playing is complemented by outstanding drummer Willard Dyson and Thailand’s leading bass player, Therdsak Wongvichien.
Veronica Nunn and the Randy Cannon Group perform every Tuesday through Thursday starting at 9.15pm and on Fridays and Saturdays from 8.45pm.
