“Bangkok is such a dynamic capital so a country like Italy has plenty of scope for offering the best of its traditions and its culture. The top-quality events of our festival are aimed at promoting a rich image of our unique country and at attracting visitors, investments and tourism in the city of angels,” says Italian ambassador to Thailand Francesco Saverio Nisio.
With the support of 41 Thai and Italian sponsors and the cooperation of 32 local partners including universities, cultural centres and malls, a variety of activities have been and will be held, ranging from dance to cinema, contemporary art and photographic exhibitions, theatre, seminars and workshops. Upcoming events include the Bangkok International Piano Festival in April, dance performance Tosca X: Omaggio a Giacomo Puccini by Artemis Danza/Monica Casadei in May and a fashion show by young designers from Accademia Italiana Bangkok school. Each activity will be held in a different venue including Siam Paragon, CentralWorld, Crystal Design Centre, River City and Chulalongkorn University.
Entrance to all events is normally free and tickets can be booked through www.EventBrite.com.
