Blasting into summer
EDM beats are all set to ring out across the river as Super Summer Sound 2017 is held for the first time ever as a one-day outdoor event at Asiatique The Riverfront on May 13.
Running from 4pm until midnight, the event brings together a great line-up of local and international electronica artists headlined by Underworld, who is considered the pioneer of techno, progressive house, breakbeat, progressive trance and alternative dance music.
Underworld is well known for exciting and breathtaking live shows with superb lighting, sounds, and visual graphics. The British duo Karl Hyde and Rick Smith have been one of the most influential electronic acts in the world for more than 20 years. In that time, their music has transcended club dance floors and provided soundtracks to everything from the movie “Trainspotting” to the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games. This is their first visit to Thailand and they’ll be joined by Maika Loubte.
Local artists in this event include the Kidnappers, who spearheaded the genre in Thailand, and newcomers DCNXTR, X0809, Telex Telexs and DJ Nolens.
The event will also feature a Creative Village area where artists and designers will craft and trade memorabilia.
