Women entrepreneurs in the spotlight

Capitalising on the success of the event in 2015, a second Women’s Entrepreneurship Conference is set for April 3 to 5 at Bangkok University. Anyone can attend for free.

That school and Cambridge University, supported by the Newton Fund, British Council and National Science Technology and Innovation Policy Office, aim to strengthen and share best practices for women entrepreneurs.
The women leaders in government and the private sector offering guidance this year include Science and Technology Minister Atchaka Sibunruang, Erawan Group managing director Kamolwan Vipulakorn and Ulrike Guelich, who established the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor project.
Underline the global gender gap and offering a chance to share ideas and experiences, the event will examine women’s roles in business, science, technology and innovation and sustainable business models and strategies in East Asia and Britain.
“Our mission is to create opportunity worldwide and, by supporting and empowering women, we help further gender equality, which is crucial to creating inclusive and sustainable economies and societies,” says Andrew Glass, director of the British Council Thailand.
Bangkok University’s School of Entrepreneurship and Management is hosting the conference from April 3 to 5. Admission is free.
