No benefits, except to Trump’s popularity rating
I thought the Russian ambassador (Have Your Say, yesterday) raised a good question when he asked where was America’s concern for “beautiful babies” when it committed genocide in Vietnam and Iraq.
I’d like to ask where was America’s concern for beautiful babies when it supported Saddam Hussein after he used massive amounts of chemical weapons against the Kurds and the Iranians. America only turned against him years later when he invaded Kuwait and threatened US oil interests.
Or what about when Israel dropped white phosphorous on Palestinians in Gaza? Yet anyone who expressed concerned for the beautiful babies whose skin was burned off then was immediately accused of being an anti-Semite.
Finally, although I originally assumed that President Assad was behind the gas attack in Syria, now I’m not so sure. The only people who benefited from the attack were Assad’s enemies and Donald Trump, who by attacking Syria was able to take America’s mind off the fact that he is already the worst “president” in American history.
