With camel rides and a thrilling water park, the Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi theme park will be a new magnet drawing young travellers to Yas Island in the United Arab Emirates.
Operated by Miral, the theme park is scheduled for completion next year and will feature six “immersive worlds”: Metropolis, Gotham City, Cartoon Junction, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch and Warner Bros Plaza.
Aiming to be a one-of-a-kind destination, it will offer a wide range of state-of-the-art thrill-rides, interactive family-friendly attractions and great live entertainment. Visitors will be able to enjoy exciting adventures with DC Comics superheroes and the younger ones can explore the wonderful world of Looney Tunes.
“We’re making great progress with our partners where we’re 60 per cent complete and on track to launch in 2018,” says Mohamed Abdullah Al Zaabi, chief executive at Miral.
“We’re excited to reveal new details about the six unique worlds, which are the keys to our ambition to make Yas Island a top-10 global destination for family fun.”
Warner Bros Plaza celebrates the Golden Age of Hollywood with Art Deco architecture and authentic Tinseltown details evoking the movie studio’s lively history.
Superhero fans can rub shoulders with Bruce Wayne in Gotham City and take selfies with Superman in Metropolis among its towering skyscrapers. Vibrant Cartoon Junction will bring together Bugs Bunny, Scooby-Doo and other beloved characters under a stylised cartoon sky filled with animation.
From the fun and frenetic to the out-of-this-world, Dynamite Gulch will take visitors to the stars and deep into a terrestrial canyon. Young adventurers can explore Bedrock, the prehistoric setting with ancient birds and dinosaurs, where the modern Stone Age family can have a “yabba-dabba-doo” time just like the Flintstones.
“Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi will be a state-of-the-art themed experience that authentically brings some of the studio’s most iconic characters and stories to life under one roof for the first time in the Middle East,” says Pam Lifford, president of Warner Bros consumer products.
“We have been closely collaborating with our partners at Miral to faithfully construct immersive worlds that resonate with precise details and we’re thrilled to share these unique experiences with fans next year.”
