Tikumporn Surintornta of Thailand had to settle for eighth place in the men’s floor exercise of the 7th Senior & 14th Junior Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships at the Nimibutr National Stadium.
Concerned with his foot injury, Thikumporn lost his momentum during the landing which resulted in his dismal score of 12.625 and had to finish at bottom eighth in the final.
Chinese Lin Chaopan and Xiao Ruoteng won the gold and silver medal after scoring 143.75 and 14.650 respectively. South Korean Kim Ha-sol took the bronze with 14.350.
However Tikumporn hopes to make amends in the men’s vault final competition today.
