What about the crimes committed by those shielded by ‘the invisible hand’?

Expats here are having a field day rapping the Red Bull heir for flouting the law.

They say if you are rich you can get away with anything. They also cite Thaksin’s name to bolster their claim that the rich and famous are exempt from laws. Oh, and they are quick to dramatise the case of the old couple who are imprisoned for “picking wild mushrooms”.
At least the Red Bull heir and Thaksin had to leave their home and family behind, never knowing when to return, to evade the law. They had to sweat a little to get passports from other countries. But there are Thais who committed serious crimes like treason, raiding Government House, shutting down the capital, seizing the main airports, murdering scores of innocent protesters and yet living normal lives while their trials keep being postponed, apparently until the statute of limitations expire. These people must be either richer than the Red Bull heir and Thaksin, or they’re protected by the “invisible hand”.
