The solution to rumpled, stained leather

Shoes, handbags and expensive cars are always given expert care, but your furniture also needs regular professional attention.

Leather Solute, a “leather spa”, has developed “Age Stop” technology to shield wood and fabric-covered furniture from deterioration.
The firm’s “spa” services include maintaining and changing the colour of shoes and bags, cleaning leather both inside and out, and repairing and maintaining leather using certified-chemical-free Bio products.
Recently, Leather Solute has adopted Age Stop, an innovative treatment process that removes bacteria even as your furniture, curtains and beds are cleaned and repaired. Once treated, your goods will look like new again.
Italian Antonio Di Maio came up with the idea and tried it out in the homes of four Thai celebrities. Rika Dila owns beautiful fabric carpets with elaborate prints. Suthassanee Khunaphalin’s favourite daybed was in need of attention. Gun Guntathavorn’s dogs had bitten and scratched up his furniture. And Vorawit Siripak’s leather sofa hadn’t been cleaned in ages.
The technology involves applying a thin, invisible layer of film to the leather to protect it against UV rays, spilled liquids, lotion stains and sweat. It also reduces the chances of the material wrinkling as it ages.
Stains remain on the film layer and aren’t absorbed into the leather, and the company has a formula for removing the stains immediately.
“When customers have a problem with their furniture, we send our professional team to analyse the condition of the leather first,” says Di Maio.
“We can take care of all leather types – calf, lamb and suede – as well as satin, canvas and even woven fabrics. We start the cleaning process by eliminating germs and repairing damaged spots. Then we shield the fabric with Age Stop, which renews the furniture.
“One thing you must always avoid is spilling oil on leather, since leather absorbs oil very quickly and it leaves a stain and spoils the leather. For any fabric, you have to try and avoid bloodstains, because blood cannot be removed easily.”
Leather Solute has outlets at EmQuartier, Gaysorn Plaza and Siam Paragon.
