Why abuse others to make your point, Eric?

I am surprised that The Nation still allows the publication of Eric Bahrt, who regularly feels the need to insult other writers to prove his point.
His latest invective against Thomas Turk and Suff (“thick skulls”, “misguided individuals”, “incapable of rational thinking”, “clowns”) is the straw the broke the camel’s back. Does Eric really think he is infallible, and is it necessary to insult anyone who does not agree with his theories?
