PM Prayut may contest the next election

Why contest an election when the “PM” can hold onto power as long as he wants? The military don’t play by the same rules that govern civilian life.

How clueless are these guys?
All they would do is split the Democrat vote by siphoning off the extremists.
Wherever Thaksin is, he is praying Prayut runs just as fervently as Abhisit is praying he doesn’t.
I for one hope he runs. I would love to know what Thais truly think of Prayut, the junta and their efforts.
What would a thorough drubbing at the polls of a military party led by Prayut mean for the viability of a Strategic Council packed full of unwanted military men?
Smarter than you

I certainly hope not, it would be a huge breach of faith if he did as he has constantly stated he does not want to do so. The next election has got to be for the people, not the Army

Maybe his idea of an election is similar to the one that occurred three years ago.

Those who took over the power wont let it go! Be sure! You can experience this even in democratic countries and Thailand is far from that!

He has been saying he has no interest in power, and that he will be thrilled when it is time to hand over power. He is about as honest as a charlatan. And he seems to really be enjoying the power, and the gravy train.
However, if it were a truly democratic election, I think he would get less than 15 per cent of the votes. He is not popular. I cannot remember the last time I spoke with a Thai person who liked him, or approved of his performance. He is only popular within his own mind.

He could do with a swift reminder that he is not an elected PM. Nothing speaks of corruption or tin pot dictatorship louder than a military general seeking to extend his stay beyond democratic elections.
Say hello to the new Myanmar!
