Varatchaya's mission at Wimby over

The run of Thai Varatchaya Wongteanchai at Wimbledon came to an end on Friday after she and Ipek Soylu of Turkey went down to ninth seed Hao-Ching Chan of Taiwan and Monica Niculescu of Romania 3-6 3-6 in the women’s doubles second round.

The Thai-Turk duo who came from the qualifying stage tried to win their fourth match in the grass Major but the seeded opponents proved too much for them to handle.

On Thursday they beat Mandy Minella of Luxemburg and Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia 6-1 7-6 (7-2) which marked the first time ever for Varatchaya to win a maindraw match in a Grand Slam.
