A Better Future

Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF), the leading international tourism platform designed to promote sustainable development of the global tourism industry with a focus on China, is scheduled to host its 6th annual edition on the theme “Regional Collaboration Towards A Better Future” from October 16-17 in Macao.

Aiming to create year-round tourism exchange and cooperation opportunities for the industry, GTEF recently hosted a networking luncheon at Guangzhou Marriott Hotel Tianhe, bringing together representatives of outbound tour operators and travel agencies, travel and trade industry from Guangdong Province, leading MICE operators from Macao, and the media in an effort to enhance mutual understanding. Invitations were extended to tourism stakeholders to participate in GTEF 2017 and to capitalise on new tourism opportunities through GTEF’s one-stop business matching platform.
Prominent guests, including Mei Qijie, deputy director general of Tourism Administration of Guangdong Province, were among the guests. In addition to introducing GTEF 2017, Jason Wang, chief operating officer of GTEF, highlighted the unique opportunities GTEF 2017 offers, including agenda-setting programmes, trade exhibition and business matching for tourism peers. Leading MICE operators from Macao including Galaxy Macau, SJM Holdings, MGM Macau and Sands China were all present to provide an industry update, familiarising prospective GTEF 2017 delegates with Macao’s world-class MICE capabilities.
In support of the 2017 International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, GTEF 2017 will engage prominent leaders from the public and private sectors in a forward-thinking dialogue to further deepen regional collaboration and foster tourism development. Also, embracing China’s “16+1” economic framework with the Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs), GTEF 2017 will showcase the 16 diverse and culturally rich CEECs (namely Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia) as Featured Partner Countries, and present the spectacular Guizhou Province as the Featured Chinese Province, bringing a truly promising tourism market mix to the Forum.
GTEF will once again offer both rewarding programmes and unrivalled business networking and matching opportunities to delegates from China and around the world, so that they can take advantage of the momentum of tourism development and growth.
