Divine right of kings a sinister ideology still practised in Saudi

Re: “Saudi prince ‘arrested over leaked abuse videos’”, The Nation, July 20.

“No matter who you are – prince, minister, citizen – no one is above the law,” read one tweet.
Anyone who reads the news knows this family appear to be above the law even in Europe: so many cases of abuse, especially of domestic workers (slaves?) and more heinous crimes, but none has ever seen a European jail.

The “divine right of kings” ideology is as sinister as it appears. Ugly in all of it’s manifestations, it is unadulterated narcissism and sociopathy.
