On the trail of the getaway vehicle

The Nation reports that, “Security officers are now focusing on two vehicles that were seen entering and exiting former premier Yingluck Shinawatra’s residence on the day she disappeared, while another theory about the escape focuses on a police pickup.”

Very smart move to let her go. If they put her in prison she would have become a martyr for the red shirts. All the drama would start again.

Unbelievable that she would have taken an alternate vehicle instead of her trusty van. Not even Sherlock Holmes would have thought to check any other vehicle leaving the compound two days before a verdict was due.

How could they know she would switch cars?  Bt1 million bail was surely enough guarantee.  
Clearly this was the best outcome for everyone.  Imagine if she was found guilty. Where would you imprison her? There would be protests all the time. Then the only other option would be suspended sentence and freedom in interests of reconciliation. That too would prove more problematic.  
Her fleeing justice suits the narrative nicely. GUILTY! GONE!

How do you know she escaped? All that is known is that she did not appear in court. There are a few other possibilities besides her having escaped, some more nefarious than others.

Thaksin-controlled police were involved? Say it ain’t so, Joe! You might want to take a look at the immigration officers who let her flee across the Cambodian border without leaving any record. Maybe you should take a look at how many police officers have become unusually wealthy in the last few months? Either the investigators are clueless, or they are waiting for their share of the brown envelope payouts.
