Great bargains on books

Great bargains on books

The awaited Neilson Hays Library Book Sale is back with books selected from thousands of fiction, non-fiction, and large-format books in English, plus a selection of other languages, donated by Neilson Hays Library supporters.

The popular fundraiser, which offers books of all genres at prices starting at Bt20, will be held on November 25-26 from 9.30am to 4pm.

The past two book sales events were successful in reducing plastic waste as most of visitors brought their own bags, so once again the library asks for cooperation to bring your own bags again for the upcoming sale. In the meantime, the library will provide paper bags for Bt10 each for those who don’t bring their own.

Anyone who has any unwanted books to contribute to the sale can drop them off at the library between 9.30am-5pm any day except Mondays and national holidays, before the sale.

Proceeds go towards the extensive restoration of the library building.

Since the library restoration is still taking place, once again the book sale will be held on the grounds of its neighbour, the British Club. Access is through the British Club’s Surawong Gate only.

The British Club will also provide food and drinks at the book sale. As usual, parking is only available in the Voravit Building (Surawong Road, near Naret Road, approximately 20 metres before library entrance) and costs Bt30 per hour. Parking on the street in front of the library will mean getting your wheels locked.

For more information, call (02) 233 1731, email [email protected], or visit the library’s Facebook page.
