Harry Styles due in Bangkok next spring
English singer-songwriter-actor Harry Styles, who rose to stardom as a member of the massively successful boy band One Direction, will be at Impact Arena in Muang Thong Thani next May 7.
Styles’ first world tour as a solo artist brings him first to Singapore and then Hong Kong before reaching Thailand. He’s promoting his debut solo album and single, both titled “Sign of the Times” and released this past spring.
Styles is a Cheshire lad, from northern England, having initially been the singer for the band White Eskimo. In 2010 he auditioned for the British edition of television’s “The X Factor”.
He and four other contestants pooled their talents to form One Direction, which turned into a global, multiple-award-winning juggernaut that released five albums.
The band announced an extended hiatus in January 2016, and the following June, Styles signed with Columbia Records as a solo artist.
“Sign of the Times” was No 1 on the UK Singles Chart and No 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The album debuted at the top of the charts on both sides of the Atlantic.
Also this year there was yet another debut – Styles making his first appearance in a movie, Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk”.
Overwhelming demand for tickets for the 20172018 world tour has led to 56 show dates being added. It kicked off in September and mainly intimate venues and continues into July 2018, with the final show in Los Angeles.
