Better rallying cry needed than ‘Thailand 4.0’
President Trump pledged to embark on a strategy of “America first” while President Xi Jinping embraced a “Chinese dream”, and PM Modi launched an initiative “Make in India”.
Disappointedly, PM Prayut came up with a vague and head-scratching “Thailand 4.0”. I don’t like it at all. It implies that we score 4.0 out of 10.
Why not “Thailand only!” It is short, crisp and to the point. It demonstrates our unity, unique culture and that we do things our way, though not conventional, but it’s ours. Kind of tacitly telling America, the EU and human rights groups to leave us alone.
