The Thai government has taken some – déjà vu? – steps to improve Thai education this year. In addition to the latter, private-public school management was announced, and recently a New Year’s present in the form of “tailor-made” online education possibilities was introduced by the Ministry of Education (MOE), which will be available in January 2018. Please do not get me wrong and mind you, education is my passion, but knowledge has been available on the Internet for a very long time, so I hope that this specifically designed New Year’s educational present will remove all the obstacles which held stakeholders back from using online education massively in the past.
The effect of the MOE’s measures will take quite some time to surface, but if that fails, maybe we can turn to the migrant pool once more – ie, the migrant children, who by then may be re-designing the high-value robots which made their parents jobless, of course – after having been through similar educational tracks as their Dutch counterparts. Extending the Thailand 4.0 requirements – educational and vocational training – to migrants is compulsory and guarantees a win-win process.
