I doubt whether the letter pages in Albanian newspapers were more interesting during the Hoxha regime when all Albanians were officially atheists.
On a related issue, the notion that Jesus ate meat because he was a devout Jew needs examination. The Bible verse on the question of the Passover sacrificial lamb reads thus:
“And He sent two of His disciples, and said to them, ‘Go into the city, and a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him; and wherever he enters, say to the owner of the house, The Teacher asks, ‘Where is My guest room in which I may eat the Passover with My disciples?”’ Mark 14:13-14
Who was the man carrying a pitcher of water? An Essene (women usually carried the pitchers of water. The Essene men did all the household chores).
Essenes were vegetarians. The early followers of Jesus were vegetarians, they rejected the sacrifice of animals.
