Belief in God is not blind faith

Belief in God is not blind faith

It seems to me that some of the atheist contributors to this column are arrogant and call any belief in God “blind faith”.

But isn’t it blind faith when the atheist guru Richard Dawkins believes that non-intelligent objects evolved into intelligent objects when there is no scientific explanation of how that happened?
Isn’t it blind faith to believe the entire order of the universe evolved out of nothing?
To make a comparison, when two people get married they may first evaluate the pros and cons of their decision. But they have to have some blind faith that no circumstances or situations will arise that will make that decision a disaster.
Of course too much blind faith in your government or religion can be terrible when people blindly follow orders to commit atrocities.
But if we were to demand 100 per cent evidence before we make any judgements, we would find it impossible to have an opinion on anything even remotely controversial.
