Russia clarifies extradition ruling

On February 20, the Ratchadaphisek Criminal Court did indeed decide that Russian citizen Dmitry Ukrainsky should be extradited to the United States, but the article has missed some key points:
l The same court last year had ruled that Ukrainsky should be extradited to Russia and the judge confirmed this on Thursday;
l The judge also said on Thursday that this was the first time in the history of Thailand that two countries have sought the extradition of the same person and both requests were honoured;
l The judge also said the last decision was up to Thailand’s Foreign Ministry;
l Ukrainsky’s lawyers still have 30 days to file an appeal.
