Mr. Viroj Tocharoenvanith, Senior Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales, CAT Telecom Public Company Limited (CAT),

was honoured to present an overview and direction of Thailand’s telecommunications sector at Carriers World Asia 2015, held on 24 – 25 March 2015 at the Grand Millenium Sukhumvit Hotel, Bangkok. The event was held to promote the telecommunications industry and digital economy policy to achieve the Real-Time Economy.

“It is known that applying digital technology to drive the national economy can add economic value to each sector,” said Mr. Viroj. “Statistically, it is found that an increase in total ICT investment contributes to the overall economic growth of the country.

“As CAT is Thailand’s main telecommunications network provider, we are aware of the opportunity to develop its business to grow along with the national economy. We are not only improving our network services but also cooperating with regional alliances; China, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore, including alliances in Europe and America as well as neighbouring countries like Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia and Myanmar, to develop networks and provide services together for the best efficiency and utmost benefit of customers, including flexibility of prices and connectivity to different platforms. This helps our business to continuously grow, benefiting all parties.

“As for neighbouring countries, in addition to border network development, we have expanded Point of Presence to Laos and Myanmar, which can be linked to CAT’s Backbone in Thailand and immediately connected worldwide. We also provide High-Speed Private Leased Circuit and internet gateways in many countries,” he added.

“For our alliances who want to establish a Point of Presence in Thailand as their service base in the Asia Zone, CAT provides a Carrier Neutral Data Center with facilities and management to ISO 27001 quality standards. Moreover, we offer a special price campaign to provide High-Speed Private Leased Circuit for domestic and international businesses, connecting to 93 offices located in Bangkok and vicinity as well as 73 at industrial estates throughout Thailand.

“This promotes digital IT network connectivity in the business sector in order to enhance capacity, heading towards Real-Time Economy or economic development through totally automatic business transaction processes,” said Mr. Viroj.
