A record number of people from the public and private sectors took part in the many pageants held in Nakhon Si Thammarat province to mark the annual&nbsp;Buddhist day of making merit on September 27. Apart from alms given to&nbsp;monks, some of the donations were offered to ghosts of the ancestors of&nbsp;donors.
