Hot weather, thunderstorms, isolated heavy rain across country
Thunderstorms with isolated heavy rain are likely across Thailand as the southwest monsoon prevails, the Meteorological Department said today (May 19), adding that people should beware of the severe conditions.
In the South, there will be continuous rainfall and isolated heavy rain. Wind and thunderstorms are expected to whip up over 2-metre waves in the Andaman Sea so boats should not venture out, while all vessels must proceed with caution, the department advised.

Northern region: Hot with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rain; temperature lows of 24-27 degrees and highs of 37-39 degrees Celsius.
Northeastern region: Hot with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rain; temperature lows of 24-27 degrees and highs of 33-37 degrees Celsius.
Central region: Hot with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rain; temperature lows of 26-29 degrees, highs of 33-38 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Hot with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rain; temperature lows of 25-29 degrees, highs of 33-35 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
Southern region (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 30 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rain; temperature lows of 24-27 degrees, highs of 34-35 degrees Celsius; waves less than a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
Southern region (west coast): Thundershowers in 40 per cent of the area with isolated heavy rain; temperature lows of 23-27 degrees, highs of 33-36 degree Celsius; waves 2 metres high and more than 2 metres during thundershowers.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot with thundershowers in 30 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 28-29 degrees, highs of 34-37 degrees Celsius.
