Upper Thailand gets cooler with gusty winds, more rain in the South

The moderate high-pressure system from China extends to the Northeast, the Central and the East of Thailand, resulting in temperature dropping by 1-2 degrees Celsius and strong winds in the areas, the Thailand Meteorological Department said on Friday.

Meanwhile, the southeasterly wind prevails over the North, bringing thundershowers and gusty winds in some areas.

The department also said that the northeast monsoon over the Gulf and the South is strengthening, resulting in more rain in the South while waves in the lower Gulf rise about two metres high. All ships should proceed with caution, the department said.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours:

North: Cool weather with fog in the morning and thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas as well as gusty winds; temperature lows of 16-21 degrees Celsius, highs of 29-34°C; temperature on hilltops is likely to drop to 6-15°C.
