Entertainment venues in three Bangkok districts closed to tackle Covid-19 cluster

Bangkok Governor Asawin Kwanmuang on Monday announced the closure of all entertainment venues in three Bangkok areas – Khlong Toei, Wattana and Bang Khae – due to the new Covid-19 cluster.

The cluster was found recently among visitors to entertainment venues in Bangkok, especially in the Thong Lor area.

In order to contain the fallout, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration decided to close all pubs and bars in Khlong Toei and Wattana districts, where Thong Lor is located, from April 6 to 19.

Meanwhile, closure of entertainment venues in hotspot Bang Khae district has been extended as well since several cases were detected in this area.

However in Huay Kwang, Phra Nakhon, Phasicharoen and Lat Phrao districts, only entertainment venues where cases of infection were found were ordered to be shut.
