Navy holds ash scattering for Thai–Cambodian border victims

The Royal Thai Navy led five bereaved families in performing ash scattering ceremonies for loved ones lost in the Thai–Cambodian border clashes, at Dongtan Bay in Sattahip district, Chonburi province.

The Navy, through the Royal Thai Fleet and the Naval Civil Affairs Department, provided vessels to take relatives of civilians killed in recent border unrest in Si Sa Ket province to perform ash scattering ceremonies.

The families participating included:

  • the Prachan family, who lost Rungrut, Thaksapon, and Pongsapak Prachan;
  • the family of Kittisak Khamwang;
  • the family of Arunrat Wansri;
  • the family of Somsri Lapboon;
  • and the family of Sawitree Onsuang.

The Navy facilitated the ceremonies by providing accommodation, transportation, and ceremonial arrangements, ensuring the proceedings were conducted smoothly and with dignity.
