Injuries reported after car hits Kanchanaburi childcare centre

A deeply distressing incident shocked Kanchanaburi residents on Friday (August 7, 2026), when the Rattanavudh Foundation was alerted to a critical incident that afternoon.
The alert concerned an accident in which a private saloon car veered out of control and crashed into the interior of Ban Nong Song Ton Child Development Centre in Mueang Kanchanaburi district.
The force of the collision damaged the building’s structure and items inside a classroom.
The vehicle struck the area where young children were taking their afternoon nap at the time.
Preliminary reports from rescue workers at the scene put the number of injured children at about 15 at that stage.
The reported injuries included head wounds and injuries caused by debris and fragments from the damaged structure; some children were also badly shaken.
Personnel from the Rattanavudh Foundation and the Phithak Kan Foundation urgently assessed the situation and provided first aid before beginning to transfer the injured children to Phaholpolpayuhasaena Hospital for close medical examination.
Residents along the route in Mueang Kanchanaburi district were asked to make way for emergency and rescue vehicles so the injured children could receive medical attention as quickly as possible.
In the latest update, a teacher at the facility reported that 34 children had attended that day.
Fifteen were injured, while the other 19 were safe and uninjured.
All 15 injured children had been taken to hospital, and the teacher confirmed that “all were safe”.
