Queen Sirikit commemorative notes return at face value from October 1
Queen Sirikit commemorative THB100 and THB500 notes will be available at face value from October 1, with a limit of 20 per denomination per person.
The Bank of Thailand (BOT) will make previously issued commemorative banknotes honouring Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother available to the public again from October 1, 2026.
The release covers banknotes originally issued to celebrate Her Majesty’s birthday anniversaries in 2004 and 2016, giving the public another opportunity to collect them.
Two commemorative denominations available
The THB100 banknote commemorates Her Majesty’s 72nd birthday in August 2004, while the THB500 banknote marks her 84th birthday on August 12, 2016.
Both denominations can be exchanged at face value, with a limit of 20 banknotes per denomination per person. The central bank said the limit was intended to ensure broad public access and allow more people to obtain the commemorative notes.
Where and when to exchange the notes
The Bank of Thailand Learning Centre will offer both denominations from October 1-4, followed by every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the remainder of October, while stocks last.
The THB100 notes will also be available at all Government Savings Bank branches and designated Krung Thai Bank branches from October 1 onwards, while stocks last. The THB500 notes will not be available at these bank branches.

Further commemorative banknotes planned
The BOT is also preparing commemorative banknotes honouring Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita.
These are expected to become available for public exchange later in 2026. Further details will be announced in due course.
