Thailand raises Prachim Ratthaya car toll cap to 80 baht from December 15
Thailand’s new Prachim Ratthaya toll ceilings take effect on December 15, 2026, with separate charges for drivers joining other expressways.
- A Transport Ministry notice sets an 80-baht toll ceiling for vehicles with up to four wheels on the Prachim Ratthaya Expressway from December 15, 2026, compared with the previous 65-baht rate.
- The Prachim Ratthaya schedule sets maximum tolls of 130 baht for vehicles with more than four and up to 10 wheels, and 185 baht for vehicles with more than 10 wheels.
- Prachim Ratthaya users continuing onto the Si Rat or Chalerm Maha Nakhon expressways must pay the applicable connecting tolls at Bang Sue 2.
Thailand’s Transport Ministry has issued a notice raising the maximum toll for vehicles with up to four wheels on Bangkok’s Prachim Ratthaya Expressway from 65 to 80 baht from Tuesday (December 15, 2026). The notice, published in the Royal Gazette, also increases the rates for larger vehicles.
Transport Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn signed the notice on August 27, 2026. The road was previously known as the Si Rat–Outer Ring Road Expressway.
Prachim Ratthaya toll ceilings rise for all three vehicle classes
The Transport Ministry’s new schedule sets the following maximum tolls per vehicle on the Prachim Ratthaya Expressway from December 15, 2026:
Vehicles with up to four wheels: 80 baht, up from 65 baht.
Vehicles with more than four and up to 10 wheels: 130 baht, up from 105 baht.
Vehicles with more than 10 wheels: 185 baht, up from 150 baht.
The changes represent increases of 15, 25 and 35 baht respectively over the previous rates.
Under the Prachim Ratthaya notice, motorists must pay rates announced with the approval of the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) board at collection points designated by the authority. Charges must not exceed the ceilings in the accompanying toll schedule.
The 2026 notice designates Prachim Ratthaya as a toll expressway and sets out the vehicle categories subject to charges and those entitled to exemptions in separate appended schedules.
EXAT board sets rates following concession review
EXAT’s board determined the revised Prachim Ratthaya rates at its eighth meeting of 2026 on July 14, after considering the terms of the concession agreement between the authority and the concessionaire.
The Prachim Ratthaya concession covers investment, design, construction, management, services and maintenance of the expressway project.
The Transport Ministry issued the notice under sections 5 and 19 of the Expressway Authority of Thailand Act 2007. When the new notice takes effect on December 15, it will replace the ministry’s previous announcement dated November 18, 2021, which governed tolls and vehicle categories under the route’s former name.
Bang Sue 2 collects separate tolls for connecting expressways
Motorists travelling from Prachim Ratthaya onto the Si Rat or Chalerm Maha Nakhon expressways must also pay the applicable connecting tolls at Bang Sue 2 toll plaza. Those charges are governed by the separate Transport Ministry toll schedules for the connecting expressways.
The Si Rat routes specified in the notice are Chaeng Watthana–Bang Khlo and Phaya Thai–Srinagarindra.
The Chalerm Maha Nakhon routes specified in the notice are Din Daeng–Tha Ruea, Bang Na–Tha Ruea and Dao Khanong–Tha Ruea.
