Bangkok Red Line train services suspended after electrical fault

SRT Electrified Train Co Ltd (SRTET) has announced that services on both Red Line commuter rail routes have been temporarily suspended for safety checks following a malfunction.
The affected routes run from Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal to Rangsit and from Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal to Taling Chan.
Explaining the disruption, SRTET said the fault occurred at 4pm on Saturday (September 26, 2026).
The company sent a team of engineers and specialists to investigate, and a detailed inspection found that an electrical system fault had affected the signalling system.
Services therefore had to be temporarily suspended across the entire 13-station network to allow urgent repairs.
Staff will carry out thorough safety checks on the train operating system so that normal services can resume as soon as possible.
The company apologised for the incident.
