Thai Air Force to deploy personnel to support Thai Airways amid floods
The personnel will cover for airline staff unable to reach work because of flooding, helping maintain ground services until conditions return to normal.

ACM Sakesan Kantha, commander-in-chief of the Royal Thai Air Force, instructed the air force on Monday (September 28, 2026) to deploy 69 personnel from the Security Forces Command to Suvarnabhumi International Airport to support ground operations.
The order followed coordination initiated by Thai Airways International Public Company Limited.
The mission is intended to support and provide cover for Thai Airways employees who cannot travel to work as normal because of flooding in the area.
Air Force personnel will support ground operations to maintain passenger services, reduce disruption and prevent delays.
This is another important mission to assist travellers, including tourists from around the world, and enable them to continue using airport services with ease during the flooding.
Keeping ground services running will also benefit Thailand’s image among Thai and foreign travellers.
The air force will provide ongoing personnel support for the mission until conditions return to normal, under the guiding principle “The air force stands by the people”.
The Royal Thai Air Force Disaster Relief Center is ready to mobilise personnel and resources and make every effort to help people in disaster-hit areas, guided by the concept “Heart to heart, setting out without delay”.
