Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) issued a Cell Broadcast flood warning for three districts in Chachoengsao on October 3, 2026, after the upper Bang Pakong River rose approximately 20–30cm above its banks. The DDPM warning covers Bang Nam Priao, Bang Khla and Khlong Khuean districts.
Large volumes of water flowing from the Prachin Buri and Nakhon Nayok rivers into the Bang Pakong caused the overflow, the department said.
Chachoengsao riverside communities urged to monitor water levels
DDPM urged residents living beside the river and in areas outside flood embankments to watch water levels closely. The warning specifically referred to areas outside the irrigation embankment along Chachoengsao Rural Road 4050.
Locations identified for particular attention were:
- Bang Nam Priao district: Bang Khanak subdistrict municipality and the Village 10 area of Bang Khanak subdistrict
- Khlong Khuean district: Villages 1, 2 and 5 in Bang Rong subdistrict
- Khlong Khuean district: Villages 1, 2, 3 and 6 in Khlong Khuean subdistrict
Residents urged to prepare for evacuation if water rises rapidly
DDPM advised residents in the affected Bang Pakong communities to move belongings to higher ground and prepare to evacuate if water levels rise rapidly. Residents should also secure valuables and important documents, remain alert to electric-shock risks and closely assist vulnerable people.
DDPM worked with mobile operators Advanced Info Service (AIS), True and National Telecom (NT) to send the Cell Broadcast warning to the three districts.
Residents can report emergencies and request assistance through DDPM’s LINE emergency-reporting account, @1784DDPM, or call the 24-hour hotline on 1784.
