Weather Dept warns of severe storms across Thailand

The Thai Meteorological Department issued Announcement No. 12 warning of erratic weather, heavy rain, and flash floods from Nov 7 to 9, 2026.

  • The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a warning for severe weather, including thunderstorms, strong gusts, and heavy rain, across Thailand from November 7-9, 2026.
  • The southern region is expected to be most affected, with heavy to very heavy rainfall creating a risk of flash floods and forest runoffs, particularly on November 8-9.
  • While the south is the primary focus, heavy rain is also forecast for parts of the Northern and Central regions on November 7.
  • Mariners in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea are advised to avoid sailing through thunderstorm areas, where wave heights may exceed 2 meters.

The Thai Meteorological Department issued Announcement No. 12 at 5.00 am on November 7, 2026, warning that upper Thailand remains subject to volatile weather conditions including thunderstorms, strong gusts, and isolated heavy rainfall.
