The stadium’s management is confident it will hit its target of 300,000 international guests by the end of the year and anticipates reaching one million foreign visitors within three years.
Thainchai " Bank" Pisitwuttinan, CEO of Global Sports Ventures Co., Ltd. (GSV), and manager of Rajadamnern Stadium, reported a dramatic increase in international attendance since GSV joined management in February 2022. “ Our major renovations and the launch of the Rajadamnern World Series (RWS) have been pivotal in this growth,” Thainchai said. “In just two years, international attendance has surged by over 4,000%.”
The RWS, now in its third season, has become a major international draw by emphasizing traditional Muay Thai and preserving its authentic heritage. The event’s global appeal has been bolstered by a partnership with international giants such as DAZN, the leading sports streaming service, which broadcasts to over 200 countries and territories, including the U.S. and several European nations. “The exposure has sparked a global interest in visiting Rajadamnern Stadium, especially among Muay Thai enthusiasts who seek an authentic experience,” Thainchai noted.
Visitor demographics have shown diverse interests, with 45% attending as couples, 38% as groups, and 8% as families. Notably, international fans have shown a strong preference for VIP seating, highlighting the success of the venue’s modernization efforts. In addition to live Muay Thai matches, the stadium enhances the visitor experience with traditional elements such as the Wai Kru ceremony, Muay Thai music band (Pi Muay), Thai cuisine, and cultural merchandise.
“Given the number of international visitors over the past six months, we are confident that our goal of 300,000 international viewers at Rajadamnern Stadium will be achieved,” Thainchai concluded.
