  • TAT says Gastech brings together more than 50,000 participants from 150 countries, providing an international audience for its tourism promotion.
  • TAT’s “20 Low Carbon Lifestyles” initiative highlights routes connecting tourists with nature, local communities and environmentally responsible ways of travelling.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is using Gastech 2026 in Bangkok to promote the country’s wellness and cultural experiences to international business leaders, investors and conference delegates, aiming to strengthen Thailand’s appeal as a leisure and business-events destination. The September 14–17 energy conference brings together more than 50,000 participants from 150 countries, according to TAT.

TAT governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said on Monday (September 14, 2026) that the agency wanted to use the gathering to build international networks and encourage interest in tourism experiences across Thailand. The promotion targets what TAT describes as “quality travellers” and the international meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) market.

TAT promotes wellness and meaningful travel

Thapanee said TAT’s “Healing is the New Luxury” positioning responds to travellers looking for meaningful experiences that offer relaxation and greater balance in their lives. The agency is presenting Thailand as a destination for leisure, learning and experiences that connect visitors with the country’s culture and ways of life.

Under TAT’s “Power of Journey” concept, travel is presented as more than discovering new places. Thapanee said journeys also provide opportunities to pause, reconnect with emotions and recharge through relaxation, cultural learning, food, art, local lifestyles and wellness activities.

TAT’s “Feel All The Feelings” booth features Thai tea-making demonstrations and hands-on sessions, Joe Louis traditional Thai puppet performances, Thai massage activities and Muay Thai demonstrations. The activities bring specific cultural and wellness experiences into the agency’s tourism pitch.

TAT said the booth uses taste, scent, sound and movement to introduce Thai culture, traditional knowledge, local lifestyles and contemporary expressions of Thai identity. The experiences are intended to give participants time to relax, recharge and connect with their feelings while discovering different aspects of Thailand.

TAT presents low-carbon routes linking nature and communities

TAT is also promoting “20 Low Carbon Lifestyles” through tourism routes that connect visitors with nature, local communities and environmentally friendly ways of living. TAT said the initiative places environmental responsibility alongside the value of the travel experience, encouraging visitors to enjoy their journeys while caring for the environment.

Gastech Exhibition and Conference 2026 runs from September 14–17 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC). According to TAT, the event brings together more than 1,000 leading energy companies, alongside government and private-sector leaders, industry specialists and investors.

TAT said the event was organised by the Ministry of Energy in cooperation with the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (Public Organisation). Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the opening ceremony.

Gastech provides a forum for exchanging knowledge and discussing the direction of the energy transition, covering natural gas, liquefied natural gas, artificial intelligence, hydrogen fuel and clean energy. The programme includes a ministerial roundtable, strategic and technical conferences, an energy exhibition and business-matching activities for the industry.

TAT has also prepared herbal inhalers as souvenirs for visitors to its booth during the September 14–17 event at BITEC. TAT described the products as a contemporary expression of traditional Thai knowledge, connected with everyday lifestyles and self-care.
