PAT celebrates 75 years with scholarships and youth sports in Bangkok
Port Authority of Thailand marks its 75th anniversary with more than THB960,000 in scholarships and youth sports for six schools around Bangkok Port.
The Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) has continued to support communities around its ports through programmes covering education, skills and career development, health, safety and the environment.
As part of its 75th anniversary, PAT has made the sustainable improvement of the quality of life in communities surrounding its ports one of its key priorities under the concept “Empowering Thailand’s Future”.
On August 28, 2026, PAT held a scholarship presentation ceremony under its Sustainable Scholarship Programme, awarding more than 170 scholarships worth a combined total of over 960,000 baht to pupils and students living around Bangkok Port.
The scholarships covered students from lower and upper secondary school to vocational certificate, higher vocational certificate and bachelor’s degree levels.
PAT also organised boys’ youth futsal and girls’ youth chairball competitions, along with cheering-squad and cheerleading contests, at PAT ARENA and the PAT Stadium futsal court.
Young people from six schools around Bangkok Port took part in the activities: Wat Khlong Toei School, Sun Ruam Namchai School, Samakkee Songkraw School, Thai Prasit Sat School, Wat Saphan School and Chumchon Mooban Pattana School.
Acting Sub Lt. Rutthakorn Khiewpaisal, PAT Deputy Director General (Financial Management and Corporate Strategy) and Acting Director General, presided over the opening ceremony. PAT executives, school representatives, teachers, students and members of the media also attended.
“PAT has been part of the Klongtoey community for many years, so we place great importance on improving the quality of life of people in the area, particularly children and young people,” Rutthakorn noted.
“Education and sport provide important opportunities for children to develop themselves through constructive and beneficial activities, discover their strengths and build a solid foundation for their future.
“PAT is ready to provide support wherever we can so that the community and the organisation can grow together.”
PAT continues to develop its services and logistics systems to support Thailand’s economy and trade while working alongside communities and addressing social and environmental needs around its ports.
The organisation also aims to use its resources and capabilities to create opportunities for local people and help improve the quality of life in communities surrounding its ports.
